Accounting and Financial Controller – NA Region

What You’ll Be Doing 

A key member of the Finance Leadership Team, the Accounting and Financial Controller – NA Region will provide leadership and oversight to all accounting and financial reporting functions within the region.  Core contributions encompass the accounting close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, cash management, financial analysis, internal and external reporting, and maintaining a robust financial controls environment.  
Partnering with the CFO and other senior leaders, s/he will provide support to cross-functional initiatives and deliver data driven financial insights enabling our strategic corporate initiatives while leading and developing a robust accounting and finance team.   

During a Typical Day, You’ll
•    Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
•    Manage the preparation and consolidation of financial statements including Corporate Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, management reporting, and associated variance analyses.  
•    Oversee the production and timely distribution of monthly invoices.
•    Adhere to, develop, and/or implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS, S-Ox, statutory requirements where necessary, as well as corporate accounting and finance standards.
•    Ensure tax compliance (sales, VAT, corporate), including working with internal / external tax advisors as needed.
•    Support global accounting with intercompany transactions, consolidations, and transfer pricing compliance.
•    Act as a liaison with parent companies and external stakeholders for financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
•    Coordinate support for internal or external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure timely and clean audit reports.
•    Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and controls to support business growth and efficiency.
•    Partner with operational leadership to provide financial insights, support budget and business plan development, and achieve key corporate objectives. 
•    Partner with CFO and Finance/Accounting leadership to design and implement strategies that enhance our team and deliver departmental objectives and vision.  
•    Manage and mentor a team of accountants and financial analysts.

What You Bring to the Role 
•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
•    Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent required.
•    6+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a controllership or leadership role.
•    Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
•    Experience in a shared services or BPO environment preferred.
•    Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite); advanced Excel skills.
•    Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an accounting and/or finance team.
•    Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization is a plus.
•    Flexibility to accommodate a varied work schedule during accounting close periods.
•    A detail-oriented, self-starter capable of multi-tasking and managing large data sets while focusing on both accuracy and reporting deadlines.
•    Primarily a remote work position with periodic in-person required (Allen Park, MI).
•    Option to work hybrid or full-time in-person if desired.
