From Managua to the Boardroom: Javier’s Journey

Javier Blanco’s path is a powerful story of perseverance. Born in Nicaragua, his family made the life-changing decision to move to Miami when he was nine to escape political turmoil. This early experience shaped his perspective and fueled his drive. “I feel like I owe a lot to my parents,” Javier shares. “They made a huge sacrifice... they left their family behind, they left their friends behind just to give [me] a better opportunity. That drives me.”

This drive initially pointed him toward a business career, inspired by his entrepreneurial father. However, a chance encounter changed his trajectory. While starting a non-profit branch, he met a mergers and acquisitions lawyer who opened his eyes to the world of corporate law, a field that blended his interests in business and legal strategy. This spark of curiosity led him to law school and eventually to TTEC.

Javier explains that the ERG is designed to connect Latino and Hispanic employees, no matter where they are. “I think it's good to see who else is out there doing the same thing, connecting, and having that sense of inclusiveness, having that sense of a community, even if you're not in the middle of Miami.”

“I say that all the time to my legal team... they asked me what makes it special and I always say the people.”

Javier emphasizes the immigrant experience as a source of strength and innovation. “The immigrant struggle itself, I think is a wonderful thing,” he notes. “I think that's what drives innovation.
